TURN YOUR IDEA INTO A STORY
Transform your screenplay idea into a fully-formed story concept that's emotionally compelling and professionally viable.
🙋🏻♀️ 🙋🏽♂️ 🙋🏼
Tired of spinning your wheels on
half-formed concepts?
You get a spark of an idea. A juicy "what if?" or an intriguing character.
But then you try to develop it... and hit a wall.
You get a decent setup, maybe even a clever twist, but something feels missing. You can’t quite figure out what the story is. The middle is foggy. The stakes feel vague. The idea fizzles.
So you set it aside and hope the next one feels stronger.
But what if the problem isn’t the idea? What if it’s just that you haven’t learned how to vet and shape it yet?

What You'll Walk Away With
In under one hour, you’ll learn a 3-part process for shaping raw inspiration into a story concept you can actually write — one that holds up both creatively and commercially.
By the end of the workshop you’ll have:
A simple lens for identifying if your idea has a full story inside it (or needs more percolating)
Tools for clarifying your protagonist, conflict, goal, and stakes early in the process
Brainstorming techniques that help you expand or "plus" your idea without watering it down
A personal greenlight checklist to decide if this concept is ready to write
A repeatable method for crafting a story premise you feel confident and excited to keep working on
🎯🎯🎯
The 3-Step Method We'll Use
You don’t need a twist. You need a strong foundation.
We’ll vet your idea from 3 angles:
Is there a story here?
Clarify the story with tools to help you discover new options and sharpen the entertainment hook.
Will this story work?
Pressure-test your concept by mapping its core pillars.
Is it worth writing?
Evaluate personal + professional fit before you commit.
This “idea vetting” process is the step most writers skip. But spending a little focused time up front can keep your script from stalling halfway through!

Start with your idea spark (no matter how small or vague)
Help you discover your protagonist, main problem, and stakes
Build out the story foundation so it’s sturdy enough to write
Walk you through the Greenlight Checklist to decide if it’s ready
Suggest ways to strengthen or freshen up your idea if needed

Hi, I’m Naomi — a screenwriting teacher and story consultant with 10+ years of experience helping screenwriters, producers, and directors develop their projects.
I was formerly part of the development team at Maverick Films (Madonna + Guy Oseary’s production company), where I worked on projects like Twilight, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, and The Stanford Prison Experiment. I also collaborated with Blake Snyder on his second Save the Cat book and taught Save the Cat workshops in LA.
These days, I help writers get unstuck and build scripts they’re proud of. Through my consulting work and group workshops, I’ve read and analyzed thousands of scripts and helped hundreds of writers shape stronger stories.
This workshop distills one of the most powerful (but often overlooked) parts of the writing process: turning the exciting spark of an idea into a real story.

Common Questions
What if I don’t have a fully formed idea yet?
Perfect. This workshop will help you shape and strengthen your early idea. If you have a spark of inspiration — a "what if?", a character, a true event — you’ll leave with a clear sense of whether it has story potential and how to develop it.
What if my idea is already strong?
Awesome! This process will help you sharpen and pressure-test your concept so you can write with more confidence and fewer stalls along the way.
Is this going to be too basic?
Nope. This isn’t Intro to Screenwriting. It’s a professional-level concept development process that writers at all levels can use to make sure their ideas are actually story-ready.
Can a 60-minute workshop really help me do all that?
Yes. The framework is simple to learn, but powerful to apply. And while you’ll see the whole framework in under an hour, it’s a hands-on process you can apply at your own pace to generate, vet, and choose your next screenplay idea (and every idea after!)
